And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. and when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

The disciples feared what they deemed the impossible—man walking on water. They feared what they had been told couldn’t be done
. Are you allowing fear and what others say, or perhaps, what you’re saying about yourself, to keep you from fulfilling a dream or fulfilling purpose?

All of that can change once you make the choice to embrace faith, determine to put in the work necessary and then and then decide to dismiss the naysayers seeking to keep you inside the boat.

A person without a plan is a person planning to fail!

The aforementioned saying has inspired and motivated me through a barrage of discouraging words and outright opposition to my initial quest toward publication.

In spite of the less than supportive views I moved ahead relying upon the faith I had in myself and the vision planted in my spirit. Beyond the vision I had to adhere to words that ring true in every situation—‘faith without works is dead’.

When I first knew I would write I went into a zone. I wrote non-stop, often forsaking personal time with family and friends in order to meet the goal of realizing my dream. That dream, although admirable would have remained a dream had I not understood that after I placed the last punctuation on the page, I needed to don my business hat.

Business!

As a writer I needed to understand that I'm a business owner who needed to formulate the write plan in order to reach my literary goals.

My blessing in this area came in the form of mentorship from several gracious industry professionals. The most valuable piece of knowledge they imparted was the necessity of ME knowing my business. To that end my appetite for learning became insatiable.  My quest to remain abreast of changes in this ever-evolving industry resulted in the births of The Let Us Bear Fruit and Reading Our Stories blogs.

Beyond the blogs The Write Plan has been created to assist in helpling others to not only hone their craft, but also learn the business side of the industry.
